Electric MiniMotard
A cheap Chinese pitbike turned electric supermoto — through multiple gas engine swaps, suspension upgrades, and finally a full EV conversion with an Electro and Co motor and Trumoto controller.
Overview
Started life as a cheap Chinese pitbike with KTM 250SX copycat fairings. Switched the wheels to 12” supermoto wheels running PMT minimoto race slicks. Uses skateboard wheels as axle sliders.
Gas Engine Evolution
Initially dropped in a couple of different gas engine variants — first a cheater Lifan 108cc engine, then a YX 140cc engine, and finally a Daytona Anima 190. Ran an eBay suspension setup before upgrading to proper Mupo carbon front forks and a Fast Ace rear.
Electric Conversion
After lots and lots of maintenance, decided to switch to a more reliable, simpler electric setup. Swapped to an Electro and Co motor controlled with a Trumoto Noisy Cricket controller. Used a Domino DBW throttle and added a left-hand rear brake from a Cake electric bike.
